Private Flute Lessons

Welcome to my private flute studio! I teach in-person and online lessons, making it easy for you to access my teaching. In-person lessons are taught in the Rogers Park neighborhood of Chicago. I can also travel within Chicagoland.

All ages and skill levels are welcome here: from beginners learning to make their first sound, to growing flutists aiming to succeed at their latest honor band or college audition, to hobby flute players returning to music after a decades-long break.

My mission is to guide my students' musical growth so they can achieve their personal goals, as well as provide them a foundation they can build upon for years to come.

I Help students:

  • Develop excellent tone and technique

  • Manage performance anxiety

  • Prepare for honor band / orchestra auditions

  • Amplify stage presence in performance

  • Navigate the college application and audition process

  • Apply body awareness principles

  • Explore new repertoire

Teaching Philosophy: Curious Fluting

My approach to flute-playing is rooted in curiosity. This enables me to find many different ways of explaining concepts, to best fit each student's learning style. I encourage my students to approach music with a combination of curiosity and diligence, enabling them to begin analyzing, critiquing, and improving their own daily playing. This means they become their own daily teacher and improve quickly, allowing me to help them overcome their most difficult obstacles and plan for the week and months ahead.
